Your practical driving test consists of two parts, the Show me/ Tell me section and the driving aspect of the driving test.
Show me/ Tell me: You will be asked two questions on basic car maintenance in which you will have to either show the examiner what they ask of you or answer the question the examiner gives to you. You won’t fail your test if you answer these incorrectly but you will be given a minor fault against you.
For this aspect of the test a question and answer sheet will be provided to you so it may help you in understanding the basic necessities of car safety and what is requires of you on the practical test. All questions and answers will be covered on your lessons
Practical Driving: Your driving test will be carried out at a local driving test centre, by a DVA examiner. Tests usually last around forty minutes, in which you will be asked to perform two manoeuvres out of a selection of four: Reverse around a corner, parallel parking, bay parking or turn in the road. You will also be asked to perform an emergency stop.
Safe driving for life? We train you to become safe drivers before you go for your test, and we hope that your driving and attitude towards driving will be maintained to the same high standards that you were taught.
